Emerald Empire. It is now your honor to follow in their glorious
struggle — stained with blood but never dishonor! — in helping
Friend Emperor achieve his imminent and inevitable victory over the
Shadowlands.
Keep the heroic sacrifices of your predecessors ever in mind. Emulate
their bravery against overwhelming odds. Use every bone and sinew,
every drop of blood in your struggle, as they did. Let their ultimate
immolation on the pyre of steadfast devotion be your example. It will
be fun — as if you cared about such lesser emotions than honor.
Every lesser samurai envies the exciting life of a magistrate.
Supporting Friend Emperor’s ‘War on Dishonor’ initiative (replaces
completed Loyalty Initiative ‘Trust Can Be Fatal’), rooting out gaijin
and shadow-tainted monsters, protecting helpless peasants from terror,
corruption and subversion — this is more than the stuff of epic haiku
cycles. This is your high duty. This is why you are alive. You are
samurai. You will not fail.
Thus you were inducted into Friend Emperor’s elite magisterial force,
where absolutely no one would dare question the Way of the Warrior or
the Celestial Bureaucracy — except for gaijin, the tainted, traitors,
and tainted gaijin traitors! Paranoia/Legend of the Five Rings
